Sinusitis or rhinosinusitis. Sinusitis. Distinguish mucosal inflammation of the maxillary sinus ( sinusitis ) , inflammation of the frontal sinuses ( sinusitis ), inflammation in the cells of the ethmoid bone ( etmondit ) and basic sinus inflammation ( ofenondit ) . Acute inflammation of the maxillary sinus often occurs during cold, flu , measles, scarlet fever and other infectious diseases .
Symptoms. Unilateral nasal congestion , mucous or purulent discharge , reduction or loss of smell . Feeling of fullness in the cheeks or forehead. Pain on pressure in the maxillary or frontal sinus . Occasionally bother toothaches . Swelling may occur in the affected sinuses. Temperature rises.
Traditional methods of treatment: bed rest , at - ingestion of acetylsalicylic acid , nose drops . To drop hit the middle nasal meatus ( opening where the sinus ) , the patient should throw back your head and turn towards the affected sinus . Also, apply heat to the area of the cheek or forehead.
