Asthma

   Asthma - a chronic disease characterized by periodic attacks . Asthma attacks vary in severity from mild coughing and labored breathing to severe , life-threatening asthma attacks . The mechanism of an asthma attack following : bronchi and bronchioles constrict , causing compression of the chest and shortness of breath . Airway mucosa swells , preventing movement of cilia . Mucous glands begin to secrete more mucus , and it becomes thicker, which prevents the passage of air into the lungs . Breathing becomes difficult and hard , even breath , which usually takes place passively , requires great effort . Over time, the attacks are becoming more severe and can lead to irreversible damage to the lung tissue and chronic lung disease . There are various types of asthma. Acquired ( exogenous , external) asthma , also called allergic , atopic asthma or immunologic , according to experts , is an allergic reaction to some factors always provokes an attack on that person (eg , the presence of animals , dust, mold , pollen , or food ) . This type of asthma occurs in children or young people who usually have other symptoms of allergies , including eczema or inflammation of the nasal itching and liquid discharge ( rhinitis) . Most people suffering from this type of asthma have the genetic predisposition to it . Dermal testing for their positive response to the characteristic of allergies and elevated levels of specific antibodies in the blood. Internal (endogenous ) asthma also called allergic , or immunological . The reasons for this such as asthma is not completely understood, although symptoms such as frequent as in extrinsic asthma . Endogenous asthma attack provoked sometimes a factor that does not necessarily cause subsequent attacks. These factors can be inhalation of cold air , the reaction to infection, physical effort , stress, weather changes , humidity or temperature changes. Endogenous asthma usually begins in the late stages of puberty or later. People suffering from endogenous asthma may not have relatives with the same disease , they have a negative reaction to an allergy by skin testing and improved the content of specific antibodies in the blood.
    Symptoms. Asthma symptoms are sneezing , coughing , heavy , noisy, labored breathing , bluish skin ( cyanosis) due to lack of oxygen in the blood , a feeling of anxiety and helplessness.
    Traditional methods of treatment: Currently, medicine is not known agents capable of cure asthma . Patients are advised to avoid precipitating factors and prescribe drugs that facilitate or relieving attack. Most symptoms and asthma attacks can be monitored at home , but in severe cases require hospitalization .
